CURTIS SALGADO HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR FOUR “BLUES MUSIC AWARDS” AND YOU CAN VOTE FOR HIM BY REGISTERING AS A MEMBER OF THE BLUES FOUNDATION.

Curtis Salgado has been nominated for four “Blues Music Awards” and you can vote for him by registering as a member of The Blues Foundation. Founded in 1980, The Blues Foundation -a 501(c)(3) non profit corporation-serves as the hub for the worldwide passion for Blues music. With 165 affiliates and membership spanning the globe, The Blues Foundation is internationally acknowledged as THE organization for promoting and ensuring the future of Blues music. “Clean Getaway” the new album by Curtis Salgado was nominated for Album of the Year as well as Soul Blues Album of the Year. “20 Years of B.B. King”, written by Dave Duncan and Curtis Salgado, was nominated for Song of the Year and Salgado was also nominated for Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year.

The 30th Annual Blues Music Awards will be presented at the Cook Convention Center on May 7, 2009 in Memphis, Tennessee. The event brings together Blues performers, industry representatives and fans from all over the world to celebrate the best in Blues recordings and performances from the previous year. Each year, the Foundation presents The Blues Music Awards to the artists selected by the vote of its members. They are universally recognized as the highest honor given to Blues artists.

CURTIS SALGADO INDUCTED INTO THE OREGON MUSIC HALL OF FAME

Curtis Salgado was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame during ceremonies held at the Roseland Theatre in Portland, OR on October 18, 2008. The Oregon Music Hall of Fame is a non-profit organization created to preserve and promote Oregon’s unique musical heritage, and to enrich Oregon music education programs. 2008 inductees also include Quarterflash, Marlon McClain, Terry Currier and Norman Leyden. CURTIS SALGADO WINS FOUR 2008 MUDDY AWARDS

Curtis Salgado was presented with four Cascade Blues Association’s Muddy Awards during the 20th Annual 2008 Muddy Awards which took place at the Melody Ballroom in Portland Oregon on November 8, 2008. “Clean Getaway” the new album by Salgado won for Best National Recording, and Curtis also won Best Male Vocalist, Best Rhythm & Blues Act, and Performance of the Year for his show at the 2008 Waterfront Blues Festival.

Named in honor of one of blues music’s most influential influences – McKinley Morganfield or Muddy Waters, the Cascade Blues Association’s annual Muddy Awards Celebration honors local, regional, national and international stars of the blues.
