BOWLING FOR CURTIS FUND-RAISER SET FOR THIS SATURDAY FEBRUARY 10TH

February 8, 2007

CURTIS SALGADO HAS RETURNED HOME TO PORTLAND, OREGON AND IS RECUPERATING FROM SUCCESSFUL LIVER TRANSPLANT SURGERY. DOCTORS HAVE ADVISED A SIX MONTH RECOVERY PERIOD BEFORE RETURNING TO WORK.

Curtis Salgado has returned home to Portland, Oregon and is recuperating from successful liver transplant surgery. Doctors have advised a six month recovery period before returning to work.

Salgado, who’d been diagnosed with liver cancer in March of 2006, received a life-saving liver transplant on September 30th at The Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Salgado’s transplant team says his liver function is completely normal. They expect him to make a full recovery. Right now, specialists are closely monitoring his medications and overall condition, as is standard practice.

Recent tests found no sign of cancer. Curtis will continue his follow-up care in Oregon. He will return to Nebraska for annual check-ups.

Fund-raising continues to be a primary concern. Two substantial loans were secured at the eleventh hour allowing for the life saving transplant. In addition to the upcoming loan payments, future expenses include medications, follow up health care, travel and living expenses.

A second Bowling for Curtis fund-raiser will take place this Saturday February 10, 2007 at the AMF Pro 300 Lanes, 3031 SE Powell Blvd., Portland, OR 97202 503-234-0237 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
