FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CURTIS SALGADO BEGINS 2008 ON A HIGH NOTE !!

Curtis Salgado, who has endured a roller-coaster of life crisis during the last two years, is getting a second chance. Optimistic that his medical issues may be behind him, Curtis is excited about the prospect of a healthy and prosperous 2008.

In early 2006, the singer-songwriter and harmonica idol was diagnosed with liver cancer, which resulted in a life saving liver transplant in September of that year. In October of 2007, he underwent another surgery when a spot was discovered on his lung. The cancerous tumor was removed and doctors were surprised to find the cancer had not spread to any other part of the lung. Salgado received great news this month when test results gave him a clean bill of health.

Curtis is currently recording in Los Angeles for his next yet to titled album for Shanachie Entertainment and is finally poised for the breakthrough that seemed to be his destiny early on.

“Thousands of friends, family and fans came to my aide, raising the needed funds to save my life,” says Curtis Salgado. “I owe each and everyone of them the best I have to give in an effort to show my gratitude for the love and support that they have given me.”

"A CONCERT FOR CURTIS" PORTLAND BENEFIT EXTRAVAGANZA HISTORIC!!

"It was better than playing at Woodstock!".... Bobby Torres

Portland, OR - June 20, 2006 - The planet took a time out, maybe stopped, at least in Portland, OR for six hours, as the worlds greatest musicians delivered a once in a lifetime performance, so full of love and giving, for a cause so deserving that it could only happen in a life or death situation.

"A Concert For Curtis" starring the Curtis Salgado Band, Steve Miller, Robert Cray Band, Taj Mahal, Phantom Blues Band, Everclear, and Little Charlie and the Nightcats came together Tuesday; June 13th, 2006 to raise money for the "Curtis Salgado Fund" in an effort to pay for a desperately needed liver transplant for Curtis in the coming months. The near capacity crowd including family, friends and fans from all over the world were treated with an evening of performances at the Rose Garden in the Theater of the Clouds that will never be forgotten. The climax of the evening ended with an all-star jam which at some points featured nearly 20 musicians on stage that continued to perform until 1:30 in the morning.

Curtis Salgado who was diagnosed with liver cancer March 21, 2006 underwent his first treatment five weeks later on May 2nd in the hope of shrinking the tumor and extending Curtis'‚s life expectancy. The initial results of the first treatment have shown that the tumor has indeed shrunk from 5.5 centimeters to 5.1 centimeters and has increased Curtis's life expectancy to 8 - 16 months without a transplant. Curtis is currently being evaluated at transplant centers around the country.

Salgado who is without medical insurance needs approximately $800,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 for the transplant surgery, medications and anti-rejection drugs as well as 24 hour after care for at least the first four weeks after the proposed surgery.

The benefit concert along with a silent auction, signed guitar and Legendary Blues Cruise raffles, merchandise and program income as well as fan donations for the evening raised approximately $150,000.00 for the "Curtis Salgado Fund".

Friends and fans in the cities of Seattle, WA, Eugene, OR, Sandpoint, ID, Freemont, CA and Omaha, NE also produced various benefit concerts during the last month which raised an additional amount of $23,600.00.

Additional funds obviously are still needed and more fund raising activities are being planned.

A special account has also been created for donations and can be made for the "Curtis Salgado Fund" at any US Bank or can be mailed to US Bancorp, 2550 NW 188th Avenue, Hillsboro, OR 97124.
